How RENEW works

Returned gear, inspected and back in play. Less waste, better prices.

The problem we're solving

Returns are a fact of running a DTC brand. Some bags come back unused. Some come back lightly worn. A small number come back with an issue we can fix in an afternoon. The default in our industry is to dump that gear into a third-party liquidator or — worse — a landfill.

RENEW is the third option. Gear gets a second life. You get a great bag at 20–50% off. The planet gets one less product in a dump.

Where the gear comes from

Three sources, in order of frequency:

  1. 30-day return window. Customers buy, decide it's not the right bag, send it back. Most come back lightly used or untouched.
  2. Demo and event units. Bags we've used at tournaments, photo shoots, or sponsored events. Some wear, all functional.
  3. Warranty repairs. Occasionally a customer sends a bag back for warranty repair and decides on a new model instead. We fix the original and list it.

What we do before listing

  • Full clean — interior, exterior, zippers, straps
  • Functional inspection: every zipper run, every strap pull, every seam
  • Hand repairs if needed (typically zipper replacement, re-stitching)
  • Photos of any cosmetic wear
  • Grade assigned (Refurb or Used-Repaired) — see the condition guide
  • Listed with condition notes

Every item is touched by us. No third-party refurbisher, no "certified pre-owned" pipeline. We see it, we grade it, we ship it.

What you get

  • 1-year functional warranty (most renewed gear in the industry gives you 30 days)
  • Same warehouse, same packaging standards as new orders
  • Same return window as new gear (with one exception — see RENEW warranty & returns)

Why we do it

Two reasons. One: we don't like waste. Building bags is resource-intensive, and throwing one away because of a broken zipper is dumb. Two: we want more players to have access to good gear, and a 30–50% discount opens the door for a lot of people.

If you're buying RENEW, you're directly funding a more sustainable way to run this business. We appreciate it.
