The Verdict

Choose your carry style before your color

Start with the trip to the court.

Our pick Our Backpack V2 for a full day of gear

Our $249.95 Tennis Backpack V2 has a dedicated laptop sleeve, ventilated shoe storage and an insulated cooler. If you need those spaces every week, they justify the $77.95 difference over the $172 Hamptons Tour Bag. Prefer a tote you can carry on your shoulder or across your body? The Hamptons offers that shape with an exterior racquet pocket. We would make that decision before comparing colors.

Which ADV and Ame & Lulu bags are we comparing?

We're comparing our Tennis Backpack V2 with Ame & Lulu's Hamptons Tour Bag in Pinkberry. These are different formats: ours is a backpack, while the Hamptons is a canvas tote with a removable crossbody strap. That distinction matters more than either brand name.

Looking for the best tennis bag for women should lead to questions about fit, capacity and personal taste. You might want a neutral backpack, a striped tote or something else entirely. Your playing level doesn't determine which look you should like.

We checked our specifications and Ame & Lulu's product details on September 15, 2026. Prices are listed US prices before tax or optional personalization. Our comparison explains the published features and our design choices; we haven't conducted a side-by-side carrying or durability test.

Why we built a backpack with separate spaces

Our layout is for the belongings you need before and after your match.

Tennis Backpack V2

Best for work-to-court days and hands-free carry

Packing a computer alongside tennis gear creates a different problem from packing for an hour at the court. We gave your laptop its own padded sleeve, with room for a device up to 16 inches, so your work bag and tennis bag can become one. The ventilated shoe compartment gives changed-out footwear a separate place.

Our backpack grew out of requests for a more compact alternative to the original Pro bag. We kept the cooler and ventilated shoe compartment because those were features players wanted to keep. That development decision, documented in our founder's bag design story, explains the layout better than a long pocket count: smaller carry should still handle the day's practical needs.

What stands out

  • Separate padded laptop storage for days that start at work.
  • Ventilated shoe storage and a laundry shelf for used gear.
  • Insulated cooler built into the bag.
  • Two shoulder straps leave your hands free on the way to the court.

Trade-offs

  • Costs $77.95 more than the standard Hamptons at the checked prices.
  • A 21-inch-tall backpack may be more bag than you want for a short lesson.

Where the Hamptons tote makes sense

A different shape can be the right answer for a simpler load.

Ame & Lulu Hamptons Tour Bag
Option two

Ame & Lulu Hamptons Tour Bag

Best for tote or crossbody carry with two racquets

$172

Ame & Lulu gives the Hamptons an exterior two-racquet pocket and a zipped main opening. The Pinkberry version pairs natural canvas with navy trim and striped navy-and-pink handles. That visible design is a valid reason to prefer it. You're going to carry the bag repeatedly; enjoying its appearance is part of the purchase.

The removable strap also lets you switch between shoulder and crossbody carry. Inside, bottle pockets and small-item pockets help separate everyday belongings. Check your packing plan if you change shoes at the court, though. Without a listed shoe compartment, you'll need to decide how footwear shares the main space with clean items.

What stands out

  • Tote handles plus an adjustable, removable crossbody strap.
  • An exterior pocket gives two racquets a defined place.
  • Lower starting price leaves room in the gear budget.
  • Optional monogramming for players who want personalization.

Trade-offs

  • Dedicated padded laptop and ventilated shoe compartments are not listed.
  • Custom and monogrammed purchases are final sale under Ame & Lulu's policy.

Choose a look you will want to carry

A neutral backpack and a striped tote can belong to equally committed players.

Our quieter exterior was a deliberate choice. During the original bag development, surveys showed that players and coaches wanted neutral main colors with some brighter accents. We used that feedback for the outside-and-inside color approach, then carried the design direction into our backpack. We also kept the branding restrained because players didn't want to feel like a walking advertisement.

The Hamptons makes color part of its exterior through the trim and webbing handles. Neither choice tells you who trains harder. Pick the appearance you like, then check whether the storage supports your routine.

For our shell, we use coated 500D KODRA nylon and YKK RC zippers. The Hamptons lists canvas and a nylon lining. Those specifications describe construction; they don't establish which bag will outlast the other. Ame & Lulu's care guidance calls for spot-cleaning or dry cleaning only, so don't assume its canvas bag belongs in a washing machine.

We provide ten-year limited functional coverage for our bags during normal use, subject to exclusions. Read our warranty terms for the distinction between a functional failure and cosmetic wear.

Will the bag fit your body and your day?

A 21-inch backpack and a tote with a 10-inch handle drop sit differently. Check where a loaded bag rests on you, how easily you can reach the opening and whether the straps stay where you want them. A product labeled for women cannot answer those questions for every height or torso length.

Think about the last ten minutes of your trip, too. Carrying a tote from a nearby parking space may suit you perfectly. If you walk farther with several belongings, our two-strap backpack format keeps both hands available. The Hamptons' crossbody strap offers another hands-free choice, with the load carried across the body. We wouldn't promise comfort from a specification sheet.

  • Computer and racquets leave home together: use our separate padded laptop sleeve.
  • You prefer a tote with a crossbody option: consider the Hamptons carry format.
  • Shoes get changed before or after play: plan a separate space for the used pair.
  • You bring only a racquet, drink and small personal items: decide whether you need a 37L backpack.

Don't pack only for the way to tennis. A damp shirt and used shoes need somewhere to go on the return trip. Our laundry shelf and ventilated compartment are there for that part of the day; with a tote, account for the space any separate clothing or shoe pouch will occupy.

What the $77.95 difference buys you

Our additional cost buys specific storage: a computer sleeve, insulated cooler and separated shoe area, along with a cape that covers your racquet handles. Count the features you will actually use. If they replace several things you otherwise carry separately, our backpack has a clear job. If those compartments would stay empty, paying for them makes less sense.

Personalization changes the Hamptons calculation. Its listed $25 monogram option takes the checked price to $197, leaving a $52.95 difference. Ame & Lulu allows returns of unused, tagged standard items within 30 days of receipt, but custom and monogrammed items are final sale. Decide on the fit and format before adding initials.

Lay out what you carried to your last match, then add anything you left in the car or brought in another bag. If the pile includes work gear and a change of shoes, take a closer look at our Backpack V2. We designed it to give those belongings their own places.

FAQ

Do women need a women-specific tennis bag?
We recommend choosing by fit, load and carry preference. Check the dimensions against your body and the space your gear needs. Our Backpack V2 and the Hamptons tote offer different ways to carry a tennis load; neither shape is right for every woman.
Can I use the Hamptons Tour Bag for work and tennis?
You can plan a mixed daily load, but its published features do not include a dedicated padded laptop sleeve. If you bring a computer, account for suitable protection and the room it takes. We built a separate padded sleeve into our Backpack V2 for that routine.
Which bag should I choose for three racquets?
Our Backpack V2 is designed for up to three racquets. The Hamptons exterior pocket is specified for two. Choose around the number you regularly carry, rather than counting on extra space beyond the published racquet capacity.
Is the monogrammed Hamptons bag returnable?
Ame & Lulu states that custom and monogrammed items are final sale. Standard items can be returned within 30 days of receipt if unused with tags attached. Check the current policy before personalizing a bag, especially if you have not tried that carry format.
